This piece was conceived as an attempt to use an organic rhythm to address the isolation and over-industrialism of my modern Western existence. Not long before it was recorded I had been to southern Mexico, and the experience of a predominantly agrarian society was fresh in my mind. (It was an experience that also included the irony of them envying us and us envying them—....)
